Description
For newborn kittens, early detection of blood type incompatibility between the mother and her kittens can help prevent neonatal hemolysis caused by nursing. When a cat needs a blood transfusion, matching the correct blood type is critical. For households with multiple cats, knowing each cat’s blood type allows better health planning. The ITGen Feline Blood Typing Rapid Test is ideal for routine health checks, pre-surgical assessments, and donor-recipient matching. It’s especially valuable for newborn care—certain B-type queens nursing A or AB-type kittens may trigger neonatal hemolysis. With this test, cat owners can screen at home and take early steps to protect their kitten’s health.
How to use?
Check the product contents and make sure the test operation is under the room temperature (15–30°C) before testing.
Use a sampling pipe to draw some whole blood specimens (approximately 10 μL) through the capillary effect. If the hematocrit is below 20%, it is recommended to use a pipette to add an additional 10 μL of whole blood sample to the buffer.
Peel off aluminum foil seal from the top of the extraction tube containing the extraction buffer, insert sampling end into pipe and cover tightly, mixed completely.
Holding the sampling pipe upright, carefully take off the cap of sampling pipe, transfer 3 drops to the specimen well (S) of the test device. If the test does not run, you may add one more drop.
After 10 minutes, interpret the results. Results after 15 minutes are invalid.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Type A : If the C line and the A line show color while the B line does not show color, then the blood type is determined to be “Type A”.
Type B : If the C line and the B line show color while the A line does not show color, then the blood type is determined to be “Type B”.
Type AB : If the line C,B,A show color all together, then the blood type is determined to be “Type AB”.
Invalid : No colored line appears in C region.
